In Xound´s issue 05 ENIGMA and Xound-Magazine invited you to a one of a kind remix-contest. Michael Cretu´s original studio tracks from ENIGMA´s song „Downtown Silence“ were available for download.
The song is part of the special editon of ENIGMA´s new album, which was released in autumn of 2008. This special edition, with exclusive packaging, contains 17 tracks on two cds.
The idea behind this was to give contesters a chance to create remixes with the original material from the song „Downtown Silence“ provided by ENIGMA´s Michael Cretu. Even encouraging remixers to experiment with their own vocal contributions.
The Samplitude-Project including the songfiles were available as free download for a 30 day period.
Your finished mixes were uploaded to our server, were Michael Cretu himself will be evaluating them.
The three best mixes will be awarded with these prizes:

Closing date for this contest was the 30.11.08.
Altogether there was an overwhelming feedback for this event, especially from abroad. What made us especially proud is that Enigma fans and remixers from all around the globe described this as a totally unique contest.
We would like to take the opportunity and thank our partners: Musiker-Board, Magix AG und SAE. And...of course a big thank you to all competitors.
More than 5300! people downloaded the remix files and just days into the competion the first „masterpieces“ were sighted on YouTube. We have a some examples to watch on our website.
A total of 153 completed remixes have been upoaded to our server.
So we need a few weeks time to judge and evaluate these, and the winner will be announced in the beginning of 2009.
The results will be posted online immediately.
